cattle grazing in the farm We farm just under 1,000 acres around the village of Balsham. We are mainly an arable farm but also finish Prime lamb and Beef. The sheep and cattle are grazed on clover rich pastures to save using fertilisers. The pastures also contain herbs to help fight against parasitic diseases thus avoiding the use of many medicines. Where grain needs to be fed this comes from the farm. In winter time the animals are housed traditionally on straw. I would like to think we are a very low carbon footprint unit.

This means hedges and field edges are managed environmentally friendly stopping contamination of water courses and allowing wild birds to flourish in the hedgerows. We have also planted many habitats encouraging Bee’s, hares, Plovers, and many finches and Skylarks. We are a British Trust of Ornithology farm and have regular bird counts throughout the year.
